Why Become an Instructor?
You know what it takes to push past life's challenges better than most. You are physically challenged and you are physically fit. You are a leader and you can motivate and inspire people because when you say "push through it" they know you have been there and have accepted no limitations. In your group exercise class, there's a place for everyone. No one gets left out.
As a capable physically challenged instructor, you will connect a group exercise class on a level that not many able-bodied instructors will be able to. Participants will dig deeper and perform better because you are leading, and they will find a sense of commonality rather than a separation of differences. You will help people to lift their thoughts from what they see as their own limitations and strive to move beyond them. People will see more of what they all have in common rather than what sets them apart.
Supporting the mission of Project VisAbility, the benefit of being an instructor will be clear as more members respond to you and what you offer them. You are not just working, you are leading and inspiring.
